Reports on confirm that the problems with the sexual misbeaviour of a minority on this beach and in the dunes as well those who are harressing those using the beach 'JUST' for sunbathing continues as it has done for some time.

Reports have been made to British Naturisum (BN)and they are urging that efforts are made to identify those causing the problems and where possible report them to the police. (Photographs of them?, though this might cause confruntation)

Our own view is that whilst the publicity surrounding any Convictions or formal police cautions might suggest to the texile public that all naturists(nudists) are 'At it', it will show the pervy element that their conduct is unacceptable.

Unless this misconduct is stopped the beach will end up being lost to naturists. Another one gone!

Sunnierclimbs,

The point you make about 'Locals' being 'ANTI' is probably down to their past experience as well as FACT and FABLE of what does or does not happen on the beach. Hence pressure to De-Naturise official beaches for whatever reasons Councils think get away with.

We have done the Club membership thing and are not really keen on the sometimes 'Ghetto' existence as well as going to the same place each time for a bit of nuddying. Also we have completely private gardens here at home on the Norfolk Cambridgeshire borders, but in the end there is nothing like a lovely beach like Holkham and the SEA! Preferably without the pervy element up to their antics.

Is there a solution to the 'Meercats', the 'Pervy element' as well as those up to their sexual activities on the beaches like Holkham that are causing the problems

Perhaps not!

But would it really be the place that you would want to go to if you had groups of people walking up and down the beach looking for these undesiables. Some thing like a vigilanty or users patrol group. Perhaps not.

It is all down to common sense as to behaviour and warning off those individuals who behave inappropriatly of what happens to those that don't.
e.g. Reports and details of their activities (perhaps with a pic) to the Police and hopefully an awarness of who are the regular offenders. Utimately a few convictions. There is nothing like someones name in the Press to regulate future conduct.

Our view is that in the short term, a bit of negative publicity about a Naturist Beach will, in the long term be benificial and make places like Holkham less of a magnet for the undesirables.

telford naturist club went to morfa last week and the walk they faced to get to the beach from the coach as terrible i understand the locals do not exactly aprove either we are afraid that uk beaches like a lot of uk clubs face an uncertain future thank heavens telford is a landed club owned by its members (no pun intended) barbara and i will stick to costa natura Fuertaventura and cap d agde for our beaches at least the seas warmer

Following earlier reports by BN and others about 'Inappropriate conduct' both sexual and harrassment as well as complaints to Norfolk Police, action is now being taken against those responsible.

It is now reported by Radio Norfolk that Police are now making beach patrols, both in a high visibility vehicle and on foot with the beach warden. A Police Sgt were interviewed and he said both individuals and groups of males on the beach had received warnings about 'improper behaviour' with one man being arrested and appearing in court. A spokesman from BN gave an overview of the situation and distanced Naturists from those meeting on the beach for sexual purposes.

Obviously, there are crys for the beach to be closed to naturists due to the behaviour of the 'pervy' element.

As Chris says,

Holkham beach is about as good as it gets. We have used it despite the 'Meercats' and the 'Performers' that appear at times. We have our boat moored just a mile or so away at Wells next the Sea so it is quite handy.

Anyone that has not been to the beach but has seen the TV series 'Kingdom' with Stephen Fry will have seen the beach shots that were in every introduction to a episode.

As we said, it is rather splendid. Pity about the pervs!

Let's not be too negative.
There are certainly some very sad people around and I have no doubt it takes place and I would be angry if it occurred near me but all the times I have been there i have never noticed anyone behaving in an inappropriate way.
Fotunately Holkham is a fine beach and when the tide is out stretches for miles. In the midst of that grandeur of sun, sand and sky there is no need for these assholes to get you down. Those actually on the beach are there for all the right reasons and it is great to join in.
